ABOUT MIKE

Helping You Find Your Own Voice on the Instrument

I’ve been playing guitar for over 10 years and teaching privately since 2022. I’m confident teaching a diverse range of styles—from singer–songwriter folk on acoustic guitar to rock and metal on electric—and I’m passionate about helping my students achieve their musical goals. I teach all levels, from absolute beginners (age 5+) to advanced guitarists, teachers, and professionals.

I also teach music theory if you’re interested in the mechanics behind the music, as well as improvisation, composition, and ways to memorise and make sense of the guitar fretboard.

Every student is unique, with different goals and needs. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or want to study advanced techniques and learn to practise more efficiently, I’m happy to help.

If you have any questions about lessons, equipment, the location, or anything else, send a message below, and I will aim to reply within one working day.

General Terms

Lesson prices are £23 for 30 minutes or £44 for 60 minutes. All student cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or not attended will be charged in full, including reasons such as short-term illness, transport delays, etc. If you wish to cancel or reschedule a lesson to a different day, you can do so via the Student Portal page.

Students are welcome to borrow either a 1/2 scale electric guitar or a 1/2 scale classical guitar for lessons, but if they are damaged the student may be charged.

Safeguarding:

Where applicable, it is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to bring and collect students at the start and end of each lesson. Mike holds a valid DBS certificate and is a part of the DBS update service, an NSPCC child protection & safeguarding certificate, and has public liability insurance as a member of the Musicians’ Union. Mike may cancel or withdraw students from lessons if a student displays disruptive or unsafe behaviour.
